The COSHH Assessment Training Course is designed to help candidates comply with the HSG 97 legislation.

Our COSHH Assessment Training Course will help to provide your workers with an understanding of how to handle substances to avoid harm to health. Undertake the Wilson Adrain Safety Management course and we will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to ensure your business complies with regulations.


The aim of the Course

The COSHH Assessment Training Course is designed to give candidates an understanding of why and how to carry out COSHH Assessments in accordance with the HSG 97 legislation. The course will give candidates an understanding of how to prioritise the task and select what needs to be risk assessed in the first place.


Course Objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the relevant COSHH 2002 legislation and other associated legislation (Hierarchy of control).
  • Understand the need for COSHH assessments.
  • How to identify COSHH substances.
  • How to carry out a Specific Risk Assessment on COSHH Items.
  • Know what limitations we have and how to combat them safely.
  • Chemical Packaging Identification.
  • Plan for emergencies.


PPE/Equipment Required:

  • Clean clothes for the classroom environment.
  • Site relevant PPE.


Method of Delivery

PowerPoint Presentation will be delivered in the classroom and site environment. This is course is interactive and will rely on the delegate’s to provide real-life experiences to make comparisons with. Additionally, there will be sessions involving conducting COSHH Risk Assessments.


The COSHH Assessment Training Course is suitable for people within a working environment that carry out risk assessments or would like to learn how to perform this activity.
