Manual Handling Course Scotland


The Manual Handling Course is designed to help candidates comply with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 92.

Duration: 1/2 Day (4 hours)
Location: On-Site or Wilson Adrain Training Centre
Delegates: Maximum of 12


The Manual Handling Course should be undertaken by people involved in manual handling in the workplace. Undertake the Wilson Adrain Safety Management course and we will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to ensure your business complies with regulations.


The Aims of the Course:

To provide operatives with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to safely carry out Manual Handling duties as per the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 92.


Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Identify the need to avoid Manual Handling.
  • Understand the correct method for lifting Kinetically.
  • Understand their own Limitations in terms of lifting.
  • Carry out the TILE Risk Assessment.
  • Safe Lifting techniques.
  • Anatomy of the Back.
  • Common Injuries and how to avoid them.


PPE/Equipment Required:

  • Safety Boots
  • Gloves
  • Eye Protection
  • Ear Protection – all must be in reasonable condition and fit for purpose.

  • Presentation
  • Verbal theory session
  • Theory test
  • Demonstration
  • Practical exercises and assessment
  • Manual Handling DVD


The Manual Handling Course Scotland is suitable for operatives that are required to carry out Manual Handling Duties.
