Aims of the Course:

This Spill Containment course has been designed around the Road Bridge Spillage Response Procedure.

The aim of the course is to provide Delegates with Knowledge and understanding of how to prevent spills in the first place, but provide them with further knowledge and understanding of how to Stop/Contain/Clean/Decontaminate and Record Site Spillage should they occur on site.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the Basic Spill Response Procedure.
  • Understand PPE Requirements when dealing with a Spill.
  • Understand the Environmental Impact of a Spill.
  • Know where to locate Spill Kits.
  • Know what Equipment is available to deal with a Spill and its purpose/limitations.
  • Demonstrate Practical Ability to deal with a Spill in accordance with you companies specific Procedure.

Understand the Reporting and Recording procedure and its importance.

PPE/Equipment Required:

  • Hi-Vis
  • Safety Boots
  • Safety Helmet
  • Hi-Vis Vest
  • COSHH Gloves
  • Spill Kits

Method of Delivery

  • PowerPoint Presentation to be delivered in Classroom
  • Practical Training; Demonstrations and Mock Spill Drills.

The Spill Containment Course Scotland is suitable for all personnel who may be involved in a spillage.
